Happy Birthday Sheena!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you....... I hope you have a fabulous day Sheena! Thanks for being an awesome friend, and for sharing your crafty passion with me.

I have learned that I must wait this year when posting my birthday cards. My friends like to look at my blog, and so I have vowed not to post my cards until the actual day, this way I won't spoil the surprise.

I had so much fun with this new stamp of mine. I used the colors of the design paper in the image, and I tried to make it look like the sun was shining on her. This is such bold design paper, that I decided not to stitch on it. I even tried to get creative and made this embellishment to fit around my bow.

Enjoy your day ladies, and have a fabulous birthday Sheena!
Hugs,
Tanya

Sketches In Thyme Challenge #42

Good Morning,

I hope you are all enjoying the start to your day! Today we are working on Sketches In Thyme Challenge #42, we have brought back this wonderful PageMaps sketch for you to use.

I think I kept my layout pretty simple. I opted to use floral design paper, placed my sassy photo in the center, and began to mount all the different papers with matching cardstock.  I decided to sew the edges, and distress the paper as well.   My Jimmer LOVES her dresses, and her flip flops, and on any given day, the accessories can change.  Such as this pink cowboy hat that she and her sister talked Daddy into buying them.  I simply can not wait for the warm weather to arrive.  I REALLY need it.

For the month of March our sponsor is Pizzazz Aplenty.  If you take a close look at my layout you will see that I have use 1mm silver pearls in the centers of the flowers on the right. I also incorporated some 3mm purple rhinestones in the centers of the larger flowers on the layout. A tiny detail that shows the attention I love putting into my creations.

Pizzazz Aplenty began with only a bit of bling and some ribbon, but over the past few months, we've added so much more. . . from cardstock to cellophane bags, as well as a variety of embellishments for your cardmaking or scrapbooking projects. , ,  stick pins, brads, buttons, cords, twines, laces, lots of ribbon, and over 20 choices of colors in our flatback pearls and rhinestones.   Our two newest additions to the inventory are The Best Glue Ever, and the Embellie Gellie - tools to make your crafting sooo much easier!

Please stop by and take a look at our store: Pizzazz Aplenty

Remember, there's no such thing, as too much bling!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #63

Good Morning,

Welcome to The Pixie Cottage Challenge #63.  The theme this week is STITCHING, and we have the lovely sketch to help inspire you as well.  I want to thank my friend Sheena, for lending me this adorable Magnolia stamp.  She fits perfectly with The Wishing Well Pixie Cottage stamp.  This is one of the new stamps available this month at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More!

I switched up the sketch by rotating it, then rotating the oval to incorporate my Easter Sentiment. I started this on Saturday during my craft day with Sheena, but I only managed to finish it on Sunday. I spent the afternoon chatting and pre-organinzing what I plan to create in the next couple of weeks. I have to say it was the first time I had someone come over and craft in my space, and I quite enjoyed it. My girls joined us for a bit, and I was even brave enough to let them use my Copics. They were super careful, and only had to stop when I noticed some of the barrels getting black on them. FYI, the blending solution and a Q-tip cleaned them up super quick!

Happy Krafting ladies, enjoy this weeks challenge.

My Desk

Kristy,  The Odd girl, asked to see our desk.  Well mine is a mess.  I have 2 chairs set up because my daughters like to color in the morning when I am getting ready for work.  As you can see there are 2 pads of paper.

Kristy is getting ready to launch her new “Clear Photopolymer Stamps”  and I have been stalking the site because I can't wait to get my order in!  I have tried digital, but just don't have the best printer, so I am just sooooo happy that she is expanding into rubber.

Have a great Monday!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #62

Good Morning,

How are you all this morning?  Once Upon A Wednesday over at The Pixie Cottage is now on Challenge #62, and the sweet sketch above it the one we are using.  The Theme is SPARKLE!  You can use the sketch, the theme or both.  I just love choices don't you?

For my card I chose to use  The Pixie Cottage "Have a Sweet Day" stamp by ArTish.  It is one of the amazing background stamps now available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.  I used the sketch, then added a bit of sparkle to her shoes.  The paper I used has a tiny bit of sparkle in it as well.  I was inspired to use the doily when I saw Cindy's post a while back, and it really stuck with me so I gave it a shot.  Thanks Cindy!

I have a dilemma ladies,  I stole this lollipop out of my daughter's Valentine bag.  I was going to give it to one of the little girls we know for her birthday, but then my husband asks me "What if she gave us the lollipop in the first place?"  Ugg, does this fall into the re-gifting category.  LOL.

Happy Krafting,  I can't wait to see what you all come up with this week.
Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO Sunday Sketch #74

Good Morning,

I was able to participate in the PWCO challenge a couple of weeks ago, and was asked to be a guest for PWCO's Sunday Sketch #74.
( The theme being GREEN.)  So keeping with the theme, I grabbed my PWCO stamps and went to work.

I switched the sketch up a bit, tucking in the fancy edged rectangle underneath the bottom design paper. I then used the same striped paper for the oval.  I did this to balance out all the different design papers, wanting to make it more pleasing to the eye.  I had fun with this one, and completely went to town with a variety of embellishments and the 3 design papers too.

Thanks for again PWCO for asking me to be a guest this week.  I hope it brings you as much visual enjoyment as I had creating it.

Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO Sunday Sketch #73

Good Morning,

A quick post, as I really should be sleeping, but can't :(    Here is my little 4x4 card using PWCO's Sunday Sketch #73.  I just can't get enough of this lamb!

Once again, the bling is from Pizzazz Aplenty, and the rest is all bits and pieces that I have had laying about in my stash.  A pretty simple card for a Friday night.

Enjoy your weekend,

A Birthday Card for The Boss!

Good Morning,

Here is the card I made for my supervisor at work.  He is the one I report to, thus I call him The Boss.  I am lucky enough to have a supervisor that has a sense of humour, thus I did not hesitate to use my Doodlefactory stamps to make his birthday card.  He enjoys his coffee, and since we have decided to get him a coffee card as a gift, I thought this card would be ideal. Hope he likes it.

Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme Challenge #40

Good Morning ladies,

Sketches In Thyme is now on it's 40th Challenge, and  Team B is using this fab sketch from PageMaps. We hope you will be equally inspired to join us, and play along.  Remember, you can take what you need from the sketch, and the rest is up to you.

I for one put the title on the panel, and left out the tab on the left side.  I did stick with the sketch pretty much after that, although I did add a second yellow layer to balance all the soft tones.  This week my little one asked me to do a page for her book, so I chose these pictures that were taken in 2008.  I love the way she is playing with her toes in the sun!  I chose the soft pastel paper to match the cute little dress she was wearing.  My Jimmer Jam certainly loves her dresses!  I chose these rub-ons because she certainly loves the sun, but because when I was pregnant with her, this is the song I would sing.  It still soothes her when she is having a bad day.  She puts her head on my heart and listens to me sing it.  Sigh, she is now almost 5 and I just hope she remains as happy and as cuddly.

For the month of March our sponsor is Pizzazz Aplenty, and all the rhinestones and pearls on my layout come from there.  I adore the wide selection Judy offers, and the fact that you can get pearls in a 2mm size, all the way up to the 5mm size. If you take a look at the bottom of my page, I also used one of the Crystal Stick pins from her shop.  They really sparkle!  I also used a Rimstone on the heart brad in the center of the butterfly.  They look like brads, but they are not.  Very Cool!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #61

Good Morning,

Welcome to a Once Upon a Wednesday, Pixie Cottage #61 Challenge.  This week we are using my sketch, and I personally want to say that I had a really hard time incorporating the triangles!  I really did not think I would be able to pull it off, but since I made the sketch, I had to give it a go.  I really like how it turned out, but it was not easy for me.   This  weeks THEME is GREEN (color or a recycled item)  and remember, you do have the option to use the theme and/or the sketch.  Using a Pixie Cottage stamp is not a requirement, but I would like to ask you all to use them if you have them in your collection.  It really makes my day when I see them in the gallery.

I chose Cassie as my Pixie Cottage stamp, and she is available at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.  I started off by rotating the sketch, and then embossed some flowers on the triangle in the center to add a bit of texture. To finish it off  I added the heartfelt sentiment, and balanced the flowered DP by using my punches to create the flowered centerpiece.  This card is being sent to a friend, and my hopes is that once it is received, it puts a dose of sunshine into her life.

I am so curious this week.  I can not wait to see how inventive you all were with these triangles!  I hope you had an easier go at it then I did.  I promise from now on, NO triangles in my sketches LOL!

Happy Krafting,
Hugs

These are a few of my favorite things Giveaway!

Hello,

We have had sun, rain, snow and more rain.  Tonight they predict snow again.  Hmmm, I sure could use a dose of warm sunny weather right about now.  But,  in order to put some sunshine into my day, I have decided to give away a few of my favorite things.   I LOVE stamps, yummy design paper, Copic markers and embellishments.  So this is what I am giving away to one lucky follower.

Thank you's go out to Michelle's Scrapbooking and More for providing me with these fabulous Copic Markers. (110, R81 and E25).  She always has great stock and fabulous pricing, be sure to check out her store.  I also want to thank my Mom, she provided me with the Stampin Up cling stamps.  The rest of the goodies are from my stash, and I am sure that one of you can put them to good use.  The paper is 6x6 in size.  You know, I don't even have the 110 Copic yet!  Best put that on my list.

Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite things are, and you will be entered into this Candy.  I will announce the winner on Saturday March 19, 2011.  If you would be kind enough to post it on your sidebar that would be great too.

Happy Saturday,

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #60

Good Morning,

Welcome to the 60th challenge at The Pixie Cottage.  The theme for this week is EASTER!  What an incentive to create cards for the up and coming Easter Weekend.  The sketch is by one of our former Pixie's, thank you Pam, I always enjoy using one of your sketches.

This may seem a bit like deja vu for you, as I used this Chickadee Da Dum Pixie Cottage Stamp last week.  But it is so suited for this time of the year, that I wanted to get the most out of it.  I also wanted to show you how different a card can turn out when one changes the design paper, the sketch and the coloring medium.  Last week I used Copic markers, this week I chose to use my Prisma Color pencils.

I tried a new technique out as well, embossing the corners of the image with a small amount of gold and green.  I also embossed the Easter sentiment, but the gold just could not be seen.  Fearing I had ruined the card, I took out my StazOn black  ink, and went over it.  The result was impressive, and I will certainly be using it again.  The gold peeks out of from behind the black, and it is slightly raised. It is nice when a mistake turns out well.

I can not wait to see all your interpretations this week.  Be it the sketch, the theme or both.

Happy Krafting,
Hugs,
Tanya

PWCO Sunday Sketch 72- My card for Haeli

Hello ladies,

This is my newest stamp from Paperworks Co. - Wool Ewe.  I find this guy adorable and he always makes me smile, so I thought it would be perfect to send to Haeli.  Please read my post HERE if you have a card to send out to this 12 year old girl battling Ovarian Cancer.

I took PWCO sketch from this weeks Challenge #72 in order to get my Mojo going.  I am pretty tired after a superb weekend spent with my two little girls.  A fun pizza/cupcake party followed by lots of giggles and the movie Despicable Me. I loved hearing both my girls giggling away and playing with their friends.  It got me out of my head and into my heart, and I soon found myself smiling along with them.  I am also pretty tired from shoveling all that snow!  My DH was out of town, and before it solidified into ice, I had to shovel it.  My goodness what a workout, but I did need one since I missed Yoga this weekend.

Just an added note about this stamp.  It inks up super well, and I am really impressed with the quality especially with the fine lines.  Two thumbs up from me!

Have a great day ladies,

Hugs
Tanya

Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge #105

Good Morning,

Michelle's Scrapbooking and More is sponsoring Inspirational Card Sketches this week, and I was asked to participate.  I really loved the sketch, and I just had to use this NEW Pixie Cottage Love you a Latte stamp set.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE brown. I used some of my Kraft paper from The Kraft Outlet to mount the squares and to frame the card, tattering the edges a bit. I then went to town with my brown copic markers.  I think my goal is to own all of the E Copics.  They seem to be the ones I use the most.

This card reminds me of the days when I had free time to sit in my favorite coffee shop, sipping a good cup of Java, while reading the paper, and people watching. I think I will add an envelope in the card, and insert a coffee coupon asking my husband on a date.  The girls love when my sisters come over to babysit, so I think a nice coffee shop date, holding hands and chatting over a nice latte would be wonderful. How about you?

Happy Krafting and I hope you play along with the ICS sketch #105 challenge this week.
Hugs,
Tanya

Can you spare a card for a child?

Hi Ladies,

I know I have tons of cards laying around, and I am going to be sending one to Haeli, in hopes that it makes her smile. I think I will add some stickers and an activity book too.

Haeli, is in 6th grade and is dealing with a very serious disease, something that is even hard for an adult to deal with... cancer.  She has a rare form of ovarian cancer.  She is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

So we are all asking if you would be willing to post a little something on your blog asking for cards for her? I am sure she would be thrilled to receive a lot cards, and perhaps little items like stickers or pencil crayons etc. from all over the world.  Whatever little bit of sunshine you could send her way would be so appreciated.

The mailing address is  :

Sketches In Thyme Challenge #38

Good Morning,

I am back to creating layouts with the Mavens on Sketches in Thyme Team B.  This week we have a fabulous sketch by Page Maps!  The sketch itself is just too pretty!

The challenge this week for me was getting a good picture of my layout, we go from ice rain, to overcast and snowy, to warm weather, then a Sunny Crisp day.  Mother Nature is all over the map this winter Season.  Ok, on with a description of my layout.  I chose these fab papers specifically to do a layout for Karlye.  We had a chance to go into her Grade 1 class and meet the Teacher in October.  I got Karlye to sit at her desk and I snapped  few pictures.  Yes, she is still at the age where she is not to embarrassed to pose for her Mom. LOL.  She is not excited about the photo though, she says it makes her look funny.  Of course it is an action shot, she decided to hold up her notebook, and of course I snapped it as fast as I could.

Her biggest fear was the Dictee this year, spelling in French.  And I am happy to say it has become one of her strong points, so I just had to add that into the layout.  The page is from one of her practice books.  I decided to addorn the letters to make them stand out a bit with 2mm rhinestones and 4mm Chocolate pearls from Pizzazz APlenty. I also adorned the trim up the left side of the layout, alternating the same size and colored pearls and rhinestones.  You really have to check out her store, she has these amazing Gel Pickers made with Embellie Gellie, and they pick up pearls and rhinestones like magic, and make it super easy to place them on your layout.

Well, I hope you get inspired to create with us,
Happy Krafting,
Hugs
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #59

Good Morning,

Welcome to another Once Upon a Wednesday, Pixie Cottage Challenge #59.  The theme for this week is SPRING  and I don't know about you, but I am so ready for Spring.  We have a wonderful sketch for you as well by one of our lovely Pixie's, Adrina!  Remember, you get to choose if you want to tackle the sketch or the theme.  Or you can choose to live on the crafty side, and incorporate both.

I chose both, because I love sketches, and I had this adorable Pixie Cottage Spring Stamp "Chickadee-Da-Dum" found at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.  I did switch it up a bit though by rotating the sketch, and by adding a bow.

So what are your plans for Spring?  I am about to embark on donating my baby clothes to a Cousin.  It is a bitter sweet moment, but I know it has to be done.  Once the space is all cleared up and I have shed a few tears, all will be well.  Don't get me wrong, I am truly blessed with the family I have, but there is something sad about moving on to the next phase, especially since the baby phase passed by so quickly, and it was just so much fun.

Happy Krafting, and be sure to have fun.
Hugs,
Tanya
